Our Work
At Ocean Ally Foundation, our work bridges the gap between scientific discovery and community empowerment. From restoring river health in Pune to protecting coastal biodiversity, our projects combine rigorous research with hands-on education. Together, we are creating a sustainable future where everyone is an ally to the sea.

Rajan Vir Webinar Series
Our founding president, Late Commodore Rajan Vir was a stalwart in the maritime domain. His contribution towards rekindling maritime consciousness and pride in our fellow countrymen is highly regarded in the realms of the Indian Navy, Merchant Marine and our Civilian society as well.
It was his ardent wish that citizens across the country should have access to the information on Marine Literacy in their respective host state languages. This would help in encouraging students in all states of India to understand the importance and position of our great nation in the maritime domain.
The Rajan Vir Webinar Series is our humble tribute to his memory and wish and we invite speakers from across the country.
Ocean Guardians
Empower your students through Ocean Guardians, a transformative leadership retreat. Beyond conservation, we build resilience through river and beach restoration, marine stranding response training, and essential life-skills workshops. Students don’t just learn about the sea—they develop the character, empathy, and grit needed to lead in a changing world.

River Cleanup
River Cleanup Drives focus on education over extraction. While we clear physical waste, our primary mission is to sensitize the public to the "River-to-Ocean" connection. By witnessing the journey of inland pollution, participants become long-term advocates for the blue ecosystems our rivers eventually sustain.
Kinaara - Annual Seminar
Our flagship annual gathering, serving as a vital bridge between scientific research and public advocacy. Named "Kinaara"—meaning the shore—the seminar brings together marine biologists, policy makers, and community leaders to discuss pressing issues like plastic pollution and climate resilience. It emphasizes the critical "River-to-Ocean" connection, transforming academic insights into actionable strategies for protecting our vital marine ecosystems.

Aribaada
The Foundation’s flagship newsletter, named after the synchronized mass nesting of sea turtles. It serves as a storytelling platform that chronicles our latest conservation milestones, research breakthroughs, and community success stories. By subscribing, supporters stay connected to the frontline of marine protection, receiving deep insights and actionable ways to help our oceans thrive.
Guest lectures
Our guest lectures bring the ocean to the classroom, inspiring students across schools and colleges to become passionate conservationists. Led by experts, these sessions translate complex marine science into engaging narratives about biodiversity and climate action. We move beyond theory, equipping the next generation with the knowledge and motivation to protect our blue planet.
