Our Story
Established in 2022 in the historic city of Pune—the land of five rivers—the Ocean Ally Foundation was born from a profound realization: you don’t need to live by the coast to be a guardian of the sea.
What began as a group of passionate marine biologists and environmentalists in a landlocked city has grown into a powerful force for marine stewardship. We recognize that our inland waterways are the arteries of the ocean; the plastic that enters a river in Pune eventually finds its way to the coral reefs of our coasts. We are here to bridge that geographical divide, transforming inland communities into active, informed participants in the global fight to protect our blue planet.
